SSH access to Servers

Hatchbox allows full SSH access to your servers

Updated

Hatchbox runs on your servers, so you have full access to the root and deploy users.

Servers are configured to only allow SSH keys (no passwords) for authentication over SSH.

SSH Keys

When Hatchbox creates a server, the only SSH key on the server is the one Hatchbox generates for your cluster.

To connect from your own device, add an SSH key to your account under Settings. This key will be added to existing servers and installed automatically when new ones are provisioned.

Sudo

The deploy user does not have a password set for some added security. This means that sudo won't work as you might be used to.

Instead of sudo, login to your server as root when you need to run priviledged commands.
